In Topic: G94(9600gt) is fully supported by new mbp drivers!

02 March 2010 - 09:03 PM

I succesfully installed my ZOTAC GeForce 9600 GT 512MB with EFI strings but the S-Video out is not working at all.

It was working on 10.5.8, but after upgrading to snow leopard the S-Video is not working. I have 10.6.2.

Anyone have any ideas? I tried putting nvenabler64 in the Extra/Extensions folder, I could see it loading on boot, but still no S-Video. Any ideas

df

1 and 2 are OK.

Link on 3 is bad.

4. It won't do better than HDAEnabler, just you would need one kext less.

Hmm weird, heres the link for #3:

You don't need fakesmc.kext in both /S/L/E and /E/E, it can be just in /E/E.

If you have fakesmc.kext in /E/E you can remove dsmos.kext from /S/L/E.

Disabler.kext and NullCPUPowerManagement.kext usually have the same purpose which is disable AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext (unless this Disabler.kext affects other kext, check it's Info.plist), you need just one of them. They are used because AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext can cause CPU overheat if the mobo is not compatible.

It would be better to patch DSDT and have AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext working (this also affects sleep), but you can use VoodooPowerMini.kext and SleepEnabler.kext as an alternative.

If you patch HDEF in DSDT you won't need HDAEnabler.kext also.

So, what I should do is:

1. Remove fakesmc.kext from /S/L/E and keep it in E/E.

2. Remove dsmos.kext from/S/L/E

3. Patch DSDT with this :link: ?

4. I'm not sure how to patch HDEF in DSDT. And will doing this be better then using HDAEnabler? This is in regards to audio im guessing, correct?

Thanks for the help!

The digital audio output is working fine but cuts out every minute and comes back, this is annoying...

Know of any way to fix it?
