In Topic: Anybody got Nvidia FX5200 dual displays yet?

23 February 2007 - 05:03 AM

Hi

I'm actually trying to get dual displays working with my fx5200 AGP.

With Natit_Dual_v0.01 :

- VGA + Tv Out ---> dual displays in mirror mode ( during boot with -v option, vga and tv works ) :D

- DVI ( with dvi-vga adaptor ) + Tv Out ---> in system profiler, osX detects Tv for first display and my Sony SDM-HS53 for second display but display only on second display
( during boot with -v option, only dvi works )

- VGA + DVI ( with dvi-vga adaptor ) ---> in system profiler, osX detects nothing for first display and my Sony SDM-HS53 for second display so no dual display
( during boot with -v option, vga and dvi works )

I'm dumping ioreg to text file to see what happen exactly.

Could you try with one monitor and one tv to tell me if it works like me ?

Hi everyone

I've got a question for probono :

My device is PCIxx21 so I've got to replaced "xx12" by "xx21" in IOPCCardFamily.

Is it exact ?

Maybe it's possible to put a range for the Memory window and I/O window values instead of the values for only one device.

If we can do that there will be no problem if people have the same device id but differents values for Memory window and I/O window.

Hi everyone

First of all, thank you Probono for your work.

I've got a Pavillion zd8000 with PCIxx21.

My output when I boot on Knoppix and use the command "lspci -v" is :

0000:0b:00.0 CardBus bridge: Texas Instruments: Unknown device 8031
Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company: Unknown device 3082
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 168, IRQ 16
Memory at 40000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K]
Bus: primary=0b, secondary=0c, subordinate=0f, sec-latency=176
Memory window 0: 40400000-407ff000 (prefetchable)
Memory window 1: 40800000-40bff000
I/O window 0: 00005400-000054ff
I/O window 1: 00005800-000058ff
16-bit legacy interface ports at 0001

As you said, it's quite similar except the second line.

I've got some questions:

- Should I take device id 8031 or 3082 ?

- Which is the file where I have to put my device id ?

- Could someone tell us exactly which program to use to translate the ranges from one format into the other to enter the correct values for I/O window and the Memory window into Info.plist ?

Thanks for the answer

I've just received my canopus ADVC-110 and it works great with Final Cut Pro 5.1.
