I am wondering what type of motherboard, video card, optical drive, and ram would be the most compatible and run the best with snow leopard without patches for the most part.
I want to build a hackintosh running snow leopard that will rip and convert dvds fairly fast, run windows 7 in fusion quickly, and do some light video editing and word processing for school. I also want to be able to run my hd tv as a second monitor via s-video or hdmi (no vga ports on the tv). The main reason I a want to go with a core i5 and not a core 2 quad or core 2 duo is to be future proof for at least a little while.
I have a junk p4 running 10.5.8 so I am not entirely new to the scene
