i7-3820 and Quadro 4000, or i7-4820K and K4000?

11 February 2014 - 03:42 PM

As far as i remember 3820 works even in SL but without power management and requires VoodooTSCSync on certain motherboards, and the old Quadro 4000 works great in 10.8 with Nvidia drivers.

What about the new 4820K and Quadro K4000? Do they have better (more native) support on Mavericks, or it would be a better idea to get the old 3820 and 4000 for a Mavericks based system?

Thanks in advance.

ALC887 very long boot hangs on "macx_swapon SUCCESS"

16 September 2013 - 01:44 AM

Hi folks, i have 10.8.4 on GA-B75M-D3H (rev. 1.1) without DSDT yet, and after trying many different ALC887 AppleHDA drivers - i'm still getting a 30 seconds delay on "macx_swapon SUCCESS" and then another 60 seconds delay when the desktop shows up.

It's a fresh retail install, i have nothing but FakeSMC and Realtek network driver in S/L/E. Normally the system should boot in less than 10 seconds, and not 1.6 minutes... If i remove AppleHDA & HDAEnabler then system boots fine but without sound obviously.) VoodooHDA is not an option because it's not functional, and never been.

Does anyone knows of any solution?

Thanks in advance)
