In Topic: How to install without burning dvd?

VMWare supports ISO mounting. Create a VPC and install OSX within. You can actually tell VMWare to use a physical HDD on VPC. I did my 1st install on VMWare and an empty HDD, after that I'm able to direct boot my PC with it.

Worth a try for those don't have a DVD writer.

To comment on this, the ISO mounting feature within VMWare doesn't fully support/recognize HFS+ volumes. This may lead to problems while installing.

Most people recommend that you mount the image with Alcohol 120%/Daemon Tools, make the drive available to VMWare and use that instead to install.

The A8N-E has the nForce4 chipset, right?

Well, are you trying to install to a SATA drive? If so, nF4 SATA does not work. You must install to a PATA drive.

If the aforementioned is not the case (you are installing to a PATA drive), then have you used Disk Utility to partition/format the drive?

I'm getting a bad CRC error when unrar'ing the OSX_1048_AMD_SSE3.rar file.

any way I can fix this without having to wait 3+ more days to download it again?

Just hash check it with your BT client. It will then download any damaged parts.

I believe there are mixed responses about installing via the VMWare to native method.

So, does installing via VMWare work for you?
