In Topic: iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 Released!

25 October 2008 - 03:18 PM

I can't remove my graphics card as I don't have integrated graphics. I wouldn't be able to do much if I can't see anything :P

I've tried with and without the chipset drivers. With them, I get that "mDNSresponder" error.

This release doesn't seem very refined...

~David,,,,,,I had the same problem on my 1st (2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.) install of iDeneb 10.5.5.

After a little digging (and a lot of reading in the forum), I tried a suggestion from another member----try clicking on the "ICHX" fix on your next install attempt.

When I first tried the install, I was getting the "Do not enter" sign and no matter what I tried, it would not go away and let my machine boot. Three or four install attempts later, I finally clicked on the "ICHX" fix and (wonder of wonders) was fully up and running a short time later. No panics, no crashes--it was great. I did a few kext tweaks to get wired ethernet and my P/S 2 stuff working again, but it has given me no trouble ever since.

Hope this helps.

I have been waiting for this kext for quite a while. Installed it on an Intel DG965-WH motherboard and didn't even get to close the
"KextHelper" interface window before I was notified that a new ethernet connection had been detected. A simple matter of disconnecting my USB wireless (Linksys) device and selecting the "new" connection got me up and running. I didn't have to tamper with any scripts---I just installed the kext and the wired ethernet started working!!

I am using Kalyway (10.5.5), recently updated from a 10.5.1 install (yes, I did update to 10.5.2, 10.5.3 qnd 10.5.4 when those updates were released).

- I updated with this one.
- Lost QE and CI support.
- Installed NVkush from http://diabolik1605.com/DHF/
- Removed NVinject.kext from extensions folder.
- Rebooted and typed -f -v
- QE and CI came back.

Ditto,,,,tried your method after finding QE was inoperable. All is good (DVD/VLC both work) in the "Hack" world once more. :D

search for kalyway_10.5.2_kernels.mpkg and install it.
solved my problem :D

Same exact symptoms,,,a little more than a full three minute boot time. Installed the kalyway_10.5.2_kernels.mpkg and boot time is back to normal,,, less than one minute.
