#1856722 [Guide] Dell XPS 15 L502X (Early 2011) Snow Leopard Install (possibly L702x too)

Good news! capitankasar over at http://forum.noteboo...es-more-81.html managed to unlock the advanced BIOS menu. I flashed just now and works for me. It doesn't seem to have an integrated/discrete option like the L702s does. However, there is an option for primary graphics adapter. Default is IGP, setting it to PEG does disable integrated on my laptop. However, windows refused to route through the nvidia card, and ended up running on basic vga drivers. I'll need to play around with it more, but being able to disable integrated might finally mean a breakthough in using our nvidia cards for OSX. --Adeeb

another problem: on youtube, with chrome, I get audio from videos about 1 time every 5. any advice? I had this problem too, and it has to do with flash player not being able to distinguish the default audio device sometimes. Go to System Prefs->Sound Then on the Sound Effects tab, find the "play sound effects through" dropdown and select the proper audio device. It was "internal speakers" for me. Then go to the output tab and make sure the same device is selected. This solved the problem for me. Also, on my system, it showed internal speakers and headphones as separate devices. Make sure you select internal speakers. That device also alternates as headphones in the first headphone jack. --Adeeb

@Mark, install NULLCPUPowerManagement.kext for some reason AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext is failing... usually this happens because the permissions of the kext are wrong. Or you could boot again in the 10.6 installation and repair the permissions of Lion (kext wizard / disk utility - whatever works on 10.6) I had the same problem after upgrading. It wasn't the kext failing. I have a 2720M, and SSDT seemed to be the issue. Using the 2720M SSDT that was posted earlier solved the problem for me. On another note, I've lost sound and battery detection after the upgrade... --Adeeb
