The same problem on Dell Vostro 1400. Is there any way to bypass kext responsible for IOAPIC?

AFAIK mirror never worked on hackintoshes, not sure if it works on ATIs.

I think it worked for me some time ago on my Dell Vostro 1400 (NV 8400 GS) when I used one of the NVinject kexts (instead of NVinjectGo), but I don't know exactly which one..

hey all, I will probably be buying a vostro 1500 today, and want to install osx. Should I have any major issues with the hardware I picked out? I am most curious about the wireless card, bluetooth, and web camera option I have selected:

Vostro 1500 Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7500 (2.2GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)

Operating System Genuine Windows® XP Professional

LCD Panel 15.4 in Wide Screen SXGA+LCD Display w/TrueLife™ (1680x1050)

Camera Integrated 2.0 mega pixel Web Camera

Memory 1GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz, 2 DIMM

256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8600M GT

Hard Drive 120GB 5400RPM Hard Drive

Optical Drive 8X CD/DVD Burner w/ double-layer DVD+R write capability, w/ roxio Creator

Integrated NIC and Modem Integrated 10/100 Network Card and Modem

Wireless Cards Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/g Wi-Fi Mini Card

Bluetooth Wireless Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Internal (2.0 + Enhanced Data Rate), WinXP

Primary Battery 85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery

Sound Card High Definition Audio 2.0

thanks for any feedback

Do NOT choose Wireless Intel 3945 card! It won't work. Instead choose Dell 1390 or Dell 1490. They work out of the box.

Yes, even a slight change in the NVCAP values alter the gfx string.

GioFX page shows: "The page cannot be found", anyway I reported this behaivor since the first 10.5.2 (9C23) Nvidia kexts appear, but you did't need to make the computer sleep, only put the display to sleep, this can be done by the Energy saver or setting a "hot corner" after wake all the benchmarks ar higher.

You can measure with X-Bench and OpenGL Extensions Viewer also.

Thanks! Sleeping just the display works for Graphics Card acceleration. But anyway, I have to sleep my computer after startup to make my sound work with speakers (Sigmatel 9228). Without sleep it works only once at 10 times:) I removed AppleAzalia.kext but it didn't help.

Have you tested your graphics card for Hardware Acceleration? I used GioFX OpenMark (http://mac.softpedia.../OpenMark.shtml) and after system startup it runs quite slow - I got ~175 points. (even thou the system preferences shows full QE/CI acceleration)
But after sleep/wake-up (actually sleep does not work properly; it wakes up immediately) operation, Graphics Acceleration just BOOSTS to ~1370 points! And I see a huge difference in graphics speed even on my desktop!

The same "BOOST" effect takes place right after I attach external monitor and click "Detect Displays".

Those who have GeForce 8400M GS card, please test your card with OpenMark and post your result. Or maybe someone have a resolution to my problem? Anyone have full acceleration right after system startup???

My laptop:
Dell Vostro 1400
NVidia 8400M GS
Sigmatel 9228
Dell Wifi 1390
