#2462306 Mac os High sierra installation attempts

Posted by levifig on 13 July 2017 - 11:56 PM

After installing to new drive did you install clover to the new drive or just use the old drive clover bootloader? Did you use APFS mode for install?. I have Clover running from a USB drive, separate from either drive. I did use APFS (the drive does show up on my 10.12.4 install). EDIT: Come to think of it, I probably need an APFS driver for Clover... <- this was it! PS: That was the easiest installation of a new major version (especially including a FS change) ever! :o Ran the regular installer from 10.12.x (to a new drive), kept the exact same Clover settings + added the apfs.efi driver, and we're in! :o Now I need to get my NVMe drive working here (Corsair MP500 on a PCIe adapter)... ;)

Got the web drivers to work on my rig, but the problem is I end up with just 0MB being reported. I have the Nvidia injection mode set to true, and from what I've read I should set it to false and change my SMBIOS. Would that do the trick? Why don't you try it and find out? :)

Okay, finally updated to the f02 driver (was still on the f01). New benchmarks are RIDICULOUSLY faster:  GpuTest results jumped from 16646 to 20613 too!!!  This is exciting!  :w00t:

Not really, man. And, although sometimes posts can get lost due to large number of people posting, sometimes patience is the key. :) Now, I wish I had at least one of your displays... :))) I'm dying to get my hands on a PLS display from Samsung. ONE. I can't even dream of two. :) Anyway, sometimes, you can try fixing this by clearing kernel cache with this command (and reboot after):sudo rm -r -v /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/*reboot nowI'm usually doing it in Single-user verbose mode. For that, you would need to do one extra step to get the system in read-write mode:/sbin/mount -uw /rm -r -v /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/*reboot nowSometimes it helps with the reboots. And, at least for the purpose of this test, try to disable SIP (in case you haven't already). See if that makes any difference. Also, if you're on DP7, try to upgrade to DP8, see if that helps. More importantly, this is hijacking the thread, which...

It'd be nice if we got some sort of release notes with added flags from Clover when it upgrades (e.g. new defaults, new flags, etc…)… :X Just sayin'… :D

Not sure this is new in PB4, but permissions in /L/E (and /S/L/E for that matter) are now root:root not root:wheel… :o Dang: I think I saw that because I was actually in Linux reading my HFS+ partition… Oops! Sorry about the confusion… :X *hidesunderarock*
