#2515706 TASK FORCE - [AMD] to missing SSE4.1 Instruction set - older CPUs on macOS Si...

You can not compare the FX-6300 or the FX8350 which that has the CPU Features SSE4.1 and SSE4.2 with a simple CPU such as Phenom II X6 or AMD Athlon X2 4050. Therefore, check the kernel only with a CPU without SSE4. 1 / SSE4.2, so we can see if the changes work, which we all hope. I can not check ydeng kernel until the end of next week. When I'm home

#2495806 Richiesta DSDT PER ACER E1-570G

Posted by spakk on 17 September 2017 - 12:00 PM

yes Edit:What a bootloader are you using? if clover, then put the driver to this folder EFI/Clover/Kexts/10.11/ (eg for El Capitan) and if using Enoch Bootloader, then put the driver to this folder /Extra/Extensions/

I must install all of these or can i install only what i need?No worries, no kernel panic will coming, but use Kext Wizzard.app to install the drivers and to refresh the cache.

Sure. Ill link a copy of my clover folder. I use the El Capitan USB fix3 for my board. Seems to be the only one that will work properly for me. I the USB fix goes in S/L/E. If you need more help just let me know.  No, that is not correct.use the last USB-FIX package, it works almost for every MacOS version without changes to the macOS system drivers. Method: use an unchanged S/L/Extensions folder then add the contents of the package to the Extensions folder, repair the permissions and generate a new Prelinked kernel, then restart the system.   Attached Files  USB-FIX and other drivers.zip 579.47KB 52 downloads

As far as I know, there is only the SSEPlus Project , look here: http://sseplus.sourceforge.net/ as well as the Udis86 project, look here: http://udis86.sourceforge.net/ on the one hand there are the modifications by Sinetek, Andy and Bronya see the contents of the /osfmk/OPEMU folder, (modifying the Udis project) and SSEPLus project, see the contents of the /osfmk/OPEMU folder, as well as the EXTERNAL_HEADERS folder Note that the SSE4.1 emulation works on Phenom without SSE4.1 on windows os: https://www.google.d...lFKiV8QeFgLGoDQ

i was thinking if you are using bridging to translate instructions in your test kernels, because the kernel must translate any sse4,1 command into instructions for older instructions sets, and also the kernel will check for the cpu having that instructions and matching the requirements (also cpuid and other stuff) so it's important to mod those checks and also would't be a bad idea to use the boot loader to disable all the system checks, and also a crazy idea: have you tried trowing some code from el capitan kernel into sierra kernel? as replacement of the new code that doesn't do the job on sierra Yeah tried some El Cap code in previous tests. The OPEMU has some support for SSE4.2 added by AnV but SSE4.1 is needed I think minimum. If you've got any ideas see my minimal source here, https://github.com/S...AMD-XNU-Minimal Only the minimal edits to run on AMD CPU. Works well on my FX but as I said I think the OPEMU needs more added but not entirely sure how.I am followi...

@Spakk you've most likely tried it but have you tried using the Corecrypto from El Cap with that kernel? No,  have not thought of it or tried. I will test it later. Thx Shane

Okay then add the changes from my diff ( opemu folder as well as the instrinc from the header folder and the trap.c ) in your source and generate a new kernel

I go forward only with small stepsattached a new kernel, unfortunately kernel stops, see picture... and neglect to answer to the bootargs I've used. :P @jalavoui, If you have interest to work on a solution, then send me a message Attached Files  Kernel.zip 4.08MB 1 downloads  20170830_020933.png 1.29MB 0 downloads
