#2097952 [AMD] Yosemite Kernel Testing (for help use the Help Topic)

A first priority, the adjustment of the opemu, see upload files from Andy. Kernel building with AMD SSeplus files I did succeed. However, the kernel did not produce the expected results. I attribute this safely back to lack of programming knowledge. but I will keep trying.

I hope he can present us a solution after he come from holiday

spakk tell me 1 thing do i need to replace all the frameworks also along with system.kext or simply system.kext will do or do i not need to do that also ??? i mean simple kernel replacement wud suffice ??? Iam using 10.10.1It should work normally only with the kernel, but should problems arise during bootup, then you can replace the system.kext.

I have found with my experiment with opemu with to the expansion of the 3dnow (assembler code) works fast and smoothly. It may well be that the kernel was not processed optimally from me?, but that's just secondary. Edit: I am convinced that 3dnow has its authority, when I look the other operating systems, then I find again and again supported instructions for both cpus, with the integrated 3dnow instructions, why should it be taboo for os x? :( Who says that the present opemu is 100% correctly and is working 100%?

Hy spakk, what is the difference to the other Kernels?I test it without using your kext and frameworks.  System boots fine, appstore is working but safari crashes somtimes und wrong colors as before.I want to respond to your question later and report in detail. Now I want to wait and see the different results and especially the criticism of Bronya. His statement is important, That the kernel must be improved !!, this still requires some adjustments, which I unfortunately can not be realized without problems. I think that Bronya or Andy, can realize these adjustments, as they have the basics. But we wait and see the first results from.

I have allowed myself to change the kernel in one part, the previous test results on my AMD Hackintosh, as well as the testing of other users with similar hardware are promising, so I want to ask you to test this kernel. the kernel is currently working on my hackintosh with 10.10 and 10.10.2 (13C81f)safari webkit with drivers of duran keeley works so far without chrashesAppStore worksLaunchpad iconsgood graphic Attached Files  amd_10.10.zip 9.23MB 48 downloads

open terminal and give : uname -a then give us the names of kernel the kernel "durankeeley:xnu-2782.1.97-opemu1/BUILD/obj/RELEASE_X86_64 x86_64" has been built based on "BSA_10.10_rc1". I'm just create a new on, but would only try it before I upload here.

Something else that occupied myself for some time, for I know no answer. I hope here constructive criticism. "Use of mnemonics" demonstrations 3DNow! instructions About the 3DNow! instructions The 3DNow! instructions were introduced by AMD in their K6 processor. They use the floating point registers, dividing each one into two 32-bit single precision floating point registers. This was intended to support enhanced 3D graphics and audio processing. The problem for programmers is that Intel did not follow suit, so you have the strange situation that the 3DNow! instructions are supported on fairly old AMD processors but not on the latest Intel ones. Nevertheless, AMD continue to support the 3DNow! instructions in their AMD64 processor, so it may be that they are here to stay! Obviously the programmer must test to see if the CPU running the program supports these instructions, and if not the necessary algorithms must switch over to be done in some other way. The way to test for sup...

with  xnu-10.10_v3. , i have a Kernel panic It was a custom kernel from Andy!!! I had not previously tested the kernel on my AMD Hackintosh. :( I took as a basis Andy's BSA-Yos-R1 and created with other adjustments! why the kernel is ending in a kernel panic, see post # 295, We have done our best, unfortunately with little knowledge in the kernel development and programming, we have succeeded one small step. :)  Now we are very pleased that our two best kernel programmer are active again. :thumbsup_anim:
