EVGA 750i sli ftw .... install issues

09 October 2009 - 06:52 PM

Hey everyone. All information about the machine will be at the bottom . Firstly, thanks in advance for the help.

Secondly.. to start, i get the error below NO matter what install i use.. i honestly have a wide range of install dvds. iatkos, idenb ,kalyway etc etc.. but i get the same error no matter what.. the only one that DID load was iPC 10.5.6.. which i do not have anymore and not sure if i am capable of downloading!! (GRRRR) anyway... any ideas? i will work on trying to get a list of all my bios settings.. I have heard some people say you have to install threw an ide drive..? I currently have 2x sata drives.. i have tried with raid on and off (let me note , that when i turn it on in my settings you can enable which sata ports to enable.. but when i do so, i get slightly confused how to set it up with the raid setup.. if you have a tut or something, lmk). But yes, ANY help would be great.

hey , i updated my iatkos 10.5.5 and it works great. just restarting/rebooting does not work. it just hangs.... i installed the openhalt kext or whatever.. but did nothing :/

i am on a dell xps 410. any ideas?

Yes i am confirming that you can update completely from 10.5.5 to 10.5.7 easily. all i did was click the software update and on the reboot i started with -v -f and after second reboot, booted fine :) only problem is sound.

completely confused about raid :S

Okay so ya... I have an xps 410 and i have 10.5.5 installed with iatkos 5i dvd. it works flawlessly. I have backed up all my information btw. I have raid disabled in my bios and is set to ata atm.. that was the only way i could get it to install. now my question is, i just bought a second sata hard drive.... now i HAVE to enable raid. how would i go abouts enabling raid. i want to do a fresh install.. do i need to have leopard installed already with ata and then enable raid after? how does raid work, during the installation in disk util there is a raid tab.. do i have to set it up threw that? also, when i boot my computer, and the raid screen comes up showing my two drives... it says next to both of them "non-raid" does this mean raid is just not set up at the moment? any tutorials out there :S ugh..

cheers~
