It's in the GeneralExtensions bundle, which I believe is linked in step two of the guide. It's not the easiest thing to see. You have to read through the guide to see it.

I'm attaching it, but I wanted to mention that so you (or anyone) can find where it came from should the file expire here or something (I don't know if that happens or not, but no point in taking chances right?).

EDIT: Having trouble actually attaching the file (I hit upload and it just says I didn't select a file??) so I uploaded it here: http://drop.io/hpmini1000_80211family

Thanks a lot Adachis,
I'll try the same (when a new mini 1000 card arrives here!)
In the meanwhile I will still keep trying to understand in what minis 311/110 and mini 1000 wifi card are different
They seem to use the same chipset, Broadcom 4315, even if they are presented ad 4312.
I posted about that in another forum after reading the service manuals of 110 and 1000, the part number is slightly different
Just to complete information in that sense, what does lpci -nnv tell you now, with the 1000 card mounted?
Vendor/device id are 14e4:4315?

Cheers and enjoy your almost 100% 311...

[quote name='adachis' post='1302096' date='Oct 18 2009, 01:46 AM']
I just installed the WiFi card from the HP Mini 1000. At first it didn't work but when I swapped the 80211Family.kext from this thread with the one from mymacbookmini and it works! I made a video:

http://www.flickr.co...8;gt;

So I've got working WiFi in 10.6! Now just sleep and I'm happy <img
Hi Adachis that's good news Can you just post the link to the IO80211 kext you used, or post that kext here, as I don't find them on mymacbookmini? Thanks

For wireless on the 311 mini, you can also try the wireless card for the mini 1000 series. I have a 1030nr right now, and it's wireless card is supported by the 80211family.kext. It's only a wireless G card. If I can't make the N card work, then I'll swap it.

I picked up an extra just in case the 311's doesn't work on the 1030nr

@Ego_OSX
could you repost the link or exact model name of the card bought on ebay? I can't access the link and I'm looking for a card to buy too
thanks

We have partial WiFi liftoff !!!

Using the above IO8011 kext, I get the Airport device detected however I cant get it to "Start" or power on.

I have attached the new IOR with the airport being detected.

Below is the E/E kexts being used.

NOTE: This is currently booting with no .aml

Any ideas ?

just for info: what do you see in system profiler? Does it tell you that IO80211 is loaded? Which version?
Because I have exactly the same situation as yours in Utility Network with kext loaded in E/E but I noticed that system profiler tells me that IO80211 is not loaded
