In Topic: .Mac For Your Hackintosh?

09 January 2008 - 04:04 AM

No issues in 10.4.11 or earlier, but glitch with IATKOS 10.5.1- can't connect to my iDisk. Probably need to change some ionetworking kext, but haven't figured out which yet. Haven't seen anyone else with this issue, but don't know how many Hackers have .Mac accounts... ;) The trial is free, good for 3 months?, but don't know if it gives iDisk access. Good for ID in iChat, though... Give it a try-should work fine, and whatever email you choose is reserved for you if you do get a full, paid account.

Been using .Mac since 2001 on "genuine" Macs...

In Topic: Installing Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard

To get an OS on an "unsupported" machine, I install onto that drive in a firewire case (PPC) or internally from a supported machine, and then put the completed install back into "unsupported" . On the Macbook, you may have a firmware issue, bad ram or something else fxxked up... not enough space? Damaged directory? Try to work that out first, if you're sure you have a good install disk. Then select archive and install, not upgrade, if you still have Tiger on it. Or backup/clone the existing drive, then wipe it and try to do a clean install.

Should install no problem- you may just have a dirty or damaged disk; or a bad download... ;)

To get back to original topic, there is an app/helper available now called Leopard Assist-check Macupdate or Versiontracker-that performs this function. BTW, I've been running Leopard since first beta out, on Macs from 400mhz Titanium PB with 256mb ram up to a loaded MacPro. Faster on the TiBook than with Tiger...

In Topic: Zydas is working on an x86 wireless driver

Happy New Year! Meant to post this some time ago, before I joined forum-but now I can

The latest drivers for Zydas USB chipsets- lots of different brands- Gigafast, Staples Retail Plus, some Trendnet, etc. can always be found at:
Macwireless

Panther, Tiger and Leopard drivers. They also have drivers for PCI wireless, etc.

I'm posting this in a few Zydas threads- I suppose this is the main driver sub-forum?
