...a little assist please

18 December 2014 - 11:42 PM

...hi, I'm in need of a replacement file...if someone could post here a copy of their /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DataDetectorsCore.framework I would be very pleased(having a wee spot of trouble after a diskwarrior repair attempt) I'm running 10.10.1...thanks in advance... :smoke:

Graphics Tests

23 October 2014 - 12:00 AM

...hi, I've noticed that OpenGLExtensionsViewer and OpenCL_OceanWave tests both have to have the test windows hidden to achieve maximum results...OpenGL results in front window are less than 1/2 the results from a hidden window(with a finder window completely covering the test window) and in OpenCL test...CineBench R15 test scores are about the same...just an observation... :smoke:

chain0 error

20 October 2014 - 04:23 PM

...hi, I've installed yosemite on a third partition...mavs/win7/yosemite...windows partition is active and the box boots to the windows boot manager...selecting either mac partition results in chain0 error...my question: how to make the yosemite partition active, so it boots to clover/chameleon boot loader first?  :smoke:

..i have this(from chameleon install) which sheds some light on potential boot problem...but unsure how to apply a fix...thanks folks

Preparing to check target disk for previous installations.

Checking disk0.
INFO: Found boot1h installed to /dev/disk0s2
WARN: Conditions point to the possibility of a boot failure
FIX: Make /dev/disk0s2 boot sector un-bootable by changing byte 1FEh to 00.
NOTE: Any Extra folder you had there will still be there. If you want to use
NOTE: /dev/disk0s2 again as your boot partition then re-run this installer
NOTE: selecting it as the target, ONLY choosing the 'Chameleon Bootloader' option
NOTE: and NONE of the other options.
...for now booting from the usb installer to get to yosemite desktop

Bashing bash

...hi, this has been bugging me... ....it seems like an exploit that could really do harm...therefore I'm posting this as a public service to all concerned...take it or leave it...it is what it is...both my boxes were vulnerable, and I'm assuming so are most if not all of yours...so until apple gets the fix...here is a link to a manual update of bash in Terminal...   tenfourfox.blogspot.com/2014/09/bashing-bash-one-more-time-updated.html  (just copy and paste into your address bar...my mistake)   :smoke:
