Z77 HD 3000 + GTX 560 Ti - Problems

28 April 2015 - 01:49 PM

I would not recommend it. Always use latest kexts.

Hi Allan I have a mixed configuration (Z77 with HD 3000 + GTX 560 Ti) and I always had problems to make HD 3000 recognized and working. The only solution for me was to use modded kexts. As a matter of fact I'm still using some kexts I found in download section and everytime I update the system I have to use them again with kext wizard. I'm on Chameleon. I know this is not the right way to do that and maybe it can be related also to my Preview app that doesn't work well since my first Yosemite installation. Could you please suggest me the right way to fix that? Now I'm on 10.10.4 of course. Thanks in advance.

GA Z68X-UD3H-B3 Yosemite Installation (Success)

07 January 2015 - 09:35 AM

Hi I’m posting this hoping it can be useful for the owners of a GA Z68X UD3 HB3 motherboard.

I’ve been trying to install Yosemite on this system for a long time without success since I always got stuck on the usual PCI configuration begin etc..

I was using my Yosemite Chameleon USB that I had prepared following the guide by chris1111 here in the forum and that I had already used with success on my GA Z77X UP4 TH.

Well after reading everywhere to search for a solution, I eventually succeeded in installing it still on F12 Bios and without Clover, using old AppleACPIPlatform.kext from 10.9.5  and installing it on my USB Yosemite with Kext Wizard.

Then I rebooted again from the USB, chose the new Yosemite HD and as soon as I reached the desktop I installed latest Chameleon boot loader. Then after the usual Apple procedure and always with Kext Wizard, I installed the following Kexts: AppleACPIPlatform.kext (from 10.9.5), NullCPUPowerManagement.kext, RealtekRTL8111.kext, GenericUSBXHCI.kext, AppleHDA.kext and HDAEnabler1.kext for sound (from 10.9.5).

With ChameleonWizard I set as in pic 1 and chose MacPro 3,1 definition.

Don’t forget to put <key>Kernel</key>

instead of mach kernel

Then with Kext Utility repair all and reboot.

It works like a charm.

Of course create a new folder on your Yosemite installation USB with all the kexts and utilities to copy/use on your new Yosemite HD. I didn’t change anything in Bios settings from Mavericks.

Hope it helps and that I didn't forget anything. Good hack.

edit: in case someone needs, I put also my kexts.

Graphic issues

09 June 2014 - 08:52 AM

Hi, I eventually succeeded in installing and booting Yosemite thanks to the guides here though I never used Clover before.

Now the problem is that i get a HD 2000 7 mb for my HD 3000 and even if I switch to my Asus GTX 560 the system is incredibly slow and I get poor graphics. Maybe I'm doing wrong with Clover I don't know but some good advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks a lot

Problemi vari ma soprattutto INTEL HD 3000

09 June 2014 - 12:33 AM

Hi, I updated to 10.9.3 from a 10.9.2 perfectly working system and since I have a mixed one (Sandy Bridge/Z77) I supposed I just needed the usual modified kexts I've always used to make HD 3000 work. (I put the HD 3000 id in the info.plist of AppleIntelFramebufferCapri and AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB and it always worked till now).

This time this trick doesn't work and I could not boot the system for a kind of "semaphore related" error. So I tried with org.chameleon.Boot.plist with "<key>IGPEnabler</key>

after restoring the original kexts. No way.
So I had to go back to 10.9.2 with time machine. I have the same problem with a 10.9.4 system on another HD.
I'm surely missing something or making something wrong.
If you can give me some advice it could be great.
