ASUS Zenbook Prime UX21A Install

06 November 2012 - 05:34 AM

Okay, so I followed the instructions and re-did my system according to this thread:

http://www.insanelym...ods-tweaks-etc/

Amazingly, I didn't have to reinstall ML (for people that need to install ML, I believe if you can just find a way to get the installer going--people have said use the B**st 1.4 installer and trick the OS X Installer to think it's installing Lion, you can just install Chameleon and stick in the stuff attached to this post).

I just used Kext Wizard to (re)install nhart's kexts, subbed in the DSDT/SSDTs from you guys in /Extra on my USB stick (I'm using that as my boot for now until I can get Clover working), and voila, everything worked.  I did keep my IONetworkingFamily.kext as that had my working AX88772B driver, and I also found a IOBluetoothFamily.kext and IOBluetoothHIDDriver.kext that seems to address error message related to a dependency on some bluetooth error.  However, I still get this:
11/5/12 5:47:12.000 PM kernel[0]: **** [AppleBluetoothHCIControllerUSBTransport][configurePM] -- ERROR -- waited 30 seconds and still did not get the commandWakeup() notification -- this = 0xffffff800a99a800 ****
11/5/12 5:47:12.000 PM kernel[0]: [IOBluetoothHCIController::setConfigState] calling registerService

Also, MacBook 9,2 was chosen for the UX31A, so I left it along.  The MacBook Air 5,2 seems a lot closer in spec and I may play with it?

I put together a zip package for UX21A people  -- through technically it should work for UX31A people as the kexts, DDST, and SSDTs were taken from this thread. :wink2:

I put together a table of my notes as well:

People can feel free to edit it.  Hope this helps someone, as I had to go through a lot of pain and filter out what worked.  Glad to have found the thread above!!!

Now to get the App Store/iCloud, Clover, and all Fn-keys to work (I may need to customize the DDST as even though the UX21A is pretty much the same as the UX31A, there's bound to be differences...

Also have to buy a WiFi/BT combo card, unless someone writes an Intel WiFi driver soon.
