How is this a perfect solution? The monthly cost of service used over a period of 12 months adds up quickly if several machines are involved. A good UPS+surge protector connected inline to a 2TB Time Capsule is a good, cheap investment that can back up quite a few machines of, say, 100Gig each. With a little skill and time to set up properly, it can provide cloud backup and storage, too.
I do think that time capsule is pretty good for most people, although it's not exactly redundant in terms of location. (and iCloud costs quite a bit for large GB amounts).
As for the monthly cost, I've actually written an article where I calculate the cost per GB per month of an HD, and online backup solutions, turns out online backup solutions are about 400x the price with the stats I used (that's not necessarily bad though).
It's here: http://www.bestbacku...per-gb-at-home/
