I solved the brightness problem. It's a known issue. A lot of people have this issue. It can be solved by put the monitor in stop and then awake. After monitor awake the brightness is at maximum and can be correctly adjusted in system preferences. In mountain lion i set a screen active corner to "stop monitor" option. After each boot, I go for a second in the corner of the screen with the mouse, put monitor in stop, get out, and the brightness is perfect, one second!
