Iatkos 10.6.3 my computer restarts after told to shutdown when USB devices are attached.

30 January 2013 - 06:23 PM

I been having this problem with my computer with it restarting after it's told to shutdown when ever any kind of USB port/s are connected. it will shut down just fine if a ps/2 keyboard and mouse are attached and it only has this issue when any kind of USB device is connected to the computer. I have updated my bios to the latest version (1.6) and shut off USB legacy and I am still having this restart issue with my computer.

The only thing I found by googleing to fix this Issue is shutting off USB legacy in BIOS and that did not work for me and if your looking for my computer specs look in my signature.

Also I gave up on 10.6.8 because I don't feel like editing my DHDT

Updated to 10.6.8 and now my network card don't work and restarts when I tell it to...

My computer specks of my HP DC7700 with specks found in link

Added hardwhere incluede
Pentium D 3.4GHZ
Intel 965Q Express Chipset
3gb of ram
ASUS WL-138g V2 network card - PCI
ASUS NVIDIA GeForce 6600 video card -PCIe

Alright everything woked great when I installed Iatkos S3 V2 and deleted AppleHPET.kext

the reason why I deleted AppleHPET.kext was so I could get the USB to work as well as the network card and it worked when I had 10.6.3 but when I upgraded to 10.6.8 I had to delete AppleHPET.kext again and this time it only fixed my USB but OSX is not reading my network card and also it is restarts when ever I try to shutdown with 10.6.8

Can anyone please help me?

PCI Slots rarely detected

Hello I have a HP DC7700 My Specks Are

3.4Ghz Pentium D Processor
3GB of ram
a ASUS NVIDIA GeForce 6600 256mb video card
Intel 965Q Express Chipset
Iatkos S3v2 10.6.3 installed

Hello and thanks for trying to help me in advance. My issue is that I don't think my OS is detecting my PCI slots most of the time, mabey 1 in every 10 times my OS boots it will detect my PCI card wich is a ASUS WL-138g V2 network card. I don't know how to fix this everything else detects my card even the Iatkos instal CD however Snow Leopard does't seem to detect it nor can it detect any PCI slots.

Does anyone know the best way to customize install with Hazard 10.6.6i on HP 7700?

Here are my specks and I also installed a ASUS NVIDIA GeForce 6600 256mb video card with heat sink

I was able to get Hazard 10.6.6i installed however I don't know the best way to install it for my computer. It took me a good 3 hours just to get Snow Leopard installed just because I wasn't shure what was the best boot loader and what set of NVIDIA drivers I should use. However I did get it installed and running but my DVD rom is not working at all and I am not shure if that is because of the SATA drivers or something else.

So could anyone help me with the customize install? thank you.

Can I get Snow Leperd working on a HP 7700?

17 September 2012 - 05:27 PM

The full specks of my computer areand for video it also has a ASUS Silencer Series NVIDIA GeForce 6600 256 MB DDR SDRAM

I was able to install Kalyway 10.5.2 but it kept freezing on me, however I think It is because I put a space on the partition and I did not know macs hate spaces. another issue I am haveing is that none of my USB ports are working and I even have to install useing the PS/2 ports. Also I know I will probably not beable to get the sound card or wirless network card to work so I was wondering what would be the cheapest PCI sound and Network card I could get that would work with Mac OSX? I am content with Kalyway but I was wondering if there is a disktro that would get me to install Snow Leperd

Tank you for your help
