i had a similar problem. i solved changing the fakesmc kexts. it's not so sure that most recent kexts are the best for your computer, sometimes you have to try older versions...
if this won't work, try a non official graphic driver

if both works, then why don't you erase one of them? so you can add the extra space to the other partition using gparted

are you sure isn't the fakesmc? try the older version maybe.. it worked for me, i had the same problem.
