#2240474 New OS X compatible motherboard -> QUO

Posted by IronManJFF on 26 May 2016 - 06:00 PM

Using Clover defeats this motherboard purpose You need to  1) Upgrade BIOS to El Cap compatible version (H2N.1669M or H2O.XMAS)2) Prepare/Edit Defaults.plist to disable SIP (required for El Cap)3) Ugrade OS X like you would on a real Mac In the video you linked at 2:08 you can see the BIOS version, what version are you currently on ?

If you are really using the F2N Vanilla BIOS then you must be booting with Clover or some other mechanism and not Ozmosis. You are using the board as a 'Hack a la Tony' and missing on the best part of owning a QUO.   First let's make sure of what you have ...   Go get DarwinDumper.. and produce the Firmware (Boot) Log Report  so we can take a look   also go in Terminal (Applications/Utilities) and provide output of this command    diskutil list

UberNoob is now using the X-Mass Oz release, has his GTX 680 flashed with GOP support and is downloading 10.11.5.  :)   Edit: The AOS board needs NVRAM protection disabled because Oz is using a AptioFix1 style memory map fix (thank-you crusher. for telling me this).   You can disable NVRAM SIP in a few different ways:   EFI Shell:setvar csr-active-config -GUID 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 -nv ="50000000"Oz Defaults Plist:   <key>Defaults:7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82</key>  <dict>    <key>csr-active-config</key>    <string>UAAAAA==</data>  </dict>NVRAM (older OS X): sudo nvram 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82:csr-active-config=%P%00%00%00CSRUtil (from Recovery): csrutil enable --without nvramThank you for helping out with guidance and contributions. Good Karma.

It may be even better if you attach the plist file.  Thanks! Or you could download Coderush’s UEFIExtract tool then load up terminal and run $ ./UEFIExtract /path/to/Z77MXQUOAOS.H2N.OZ1669M.ROM Then drill down to the relevant section of the resulting expanded directory: Z77MXQUOAOS.H2N.OZ1669M.ROM.dump/2\ BIOS\ region/2\ 8C8CE578-8A3D-4F1C-9935-896185C32DD3/0\ FV_MAIN_NESTED/0\ Compressed\ section/0\ Volume\ image\ section/0\ 8C8CE578-8A3D-4F1C-9935-896185C32DD3/191\ OzmosisDefaults and open the 0\ Compressed\ section/0\ Raw\ section/body.bin file in a text editor.

#2044818 ReadSMC for EFI, a tool to enter read SMC keys from EFI shell on real Macs

Posted by Andy Vandijck on 26 July 2014 - 07:28 PM

I wrote a little EFI tool to read SMC keys from real Macs from an EFI shell running on the real Macs.I made 32bit and 64bit versions.It also reads the SMC Signature out and shows it. Usage example:ReadSMC.efi OSK 31 It show:OSK0: [ 6f 75 72 68 61 72 64 77 6f 72 6b 62 79 74 68 65 73 65 77 6f 72 64 73 67 75 61 72 64 65 64 70 6c ] Have fun :D EDIT: Upload restored, github repo created. Github repo URL:https://github.com/andyvand/ReadSMC Attached Files  ReadSMC.zip 20.17KB 198 downloads

#2043554 Atheros 9K Series ROM Modding Tools And Recovery Kit

Posted by Andy Vandijck on 23 July 2014 - 04:39 PM

I recently had to recover the ROM of my Atheros AR9285 because of a broken checksum in the ROM.Windows couldn't use the device at all,  OS X had a HAL error so I decided to build a custom linux ath9k driver capable of loading the custom ROM with debugging build... For getting a Linux environment (if you have none):Use either a tool like unetbootin or Uni-USB to create a bootable USB flash storage drive containing a bootable setup.I used latest Ubuntu... For making a full 4k ROM from a 512 byte dump:Go into the custom iwleeprom folder and copy in here the eeprom_dump.rom file and next in the terminal execute here./create4krom.shThis will create eeprom_4k.rom To configure this backports for your Linux and install:make defconfig-ath9k-debugmakemake install Don't forget to edit romimp.c with a C formatted character structure of your original ROM (eeprom_4k.rom).After you the load up this driver, the card will work again and the you can use my custom iwleeprom to...

I remember when exFAT support was first added with Snow Leopard that there was some gotcha with using it in OS X and Windows. I think it had to do with OS X using too large a cluster size which caused problems when the disk was read in Windows. As you're formatting a 3TB disk the clusters might be too big and could be causing problems. If you can, try formatting the disk on Windows where you can set the cluster size.

I decided to give this a shot on the Z68. Just have a couple of questions. Is there any way to get full-res video with my GTX670? CsmVideoDxe did this in Clover, but I tried adding it to Ozmosis and it didn't seem to load. Failing that if I can even set 1280x800 that would be good. Just to have the right aspect ratio.hii had the same problem.with the Bios Z77-DS3H F10h i dont get Full Res, but when i replace the CSMVideo module from the new F10i then i get Full Res without any driver with Clover and ozmosis.here is the bios with working full Res with CSM enabled just replce the CSMVideo module. Good Luck Any ideas about the boot menu? Should I be able to click or select the drives displayed when I hit Home?just move the mouse Attached Files  Z77DS3H.10i.zip 3.65MB 73 downloads
