So I did what you said, and everything seems to work with a few exceptions. The bar on the top (with the Apple logo) is like grey, not transparent. Also when I click the Apple logo, click about this mac, then click more info, then proceed to click the graphics/display (which I was going to check if quartz extreme was supported) I get a dialogue box and the computer freezes and says it needs to be restarted in 4 different languages. I think this is what happens when there is a kernel panic right? Any suggestions?

My hardware:

EVGA 780i Sli

EVGA 9800 GTX KO

4 gbs 1066 mhz ram

raptor 150gb 10,000

I've done additional tests and I identified more precisely the problem with my 8800 Ultra: when I scroll (vertically or horizontally) a picture in Photoshop (with the hand tool) or when I move the view up and down in Quake/Doom, I see a sort of horizontal blurry wave. The display is rendered correctly as soon as the scrolling stops.

Do you have the same issue with the 9800 GTX ? If no, maybe I'll replace my GFX card or wait for 10.5.3.

Thanks!

No problems here with 9800 GTX or 8800 GTX, so maybe it is your card or maybe you need to re-install. If I were you, I would see if 10.5.3 makes any difference first. How long have you had the card?

I've bought it 2 weeks ago on eBay, it works fine on Windows.

I've tried with a fresh Leopard install, with 10.5, 10.5.2 and 10.5.3 beta kext and even with your 8800 GTX bios from your site, EFI strings or NVInject. Each time I've noticed the same issue...

you might need to flash the card to make it work in mac.

Well it looks OK, you should double check the PCI address:

<key>PciRoot(0x1)/Pci(0x9,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)</key>

You don't say what motherboard you have.

Does the card work with Natit or NVInject?

Ahh, an nforce board again. I am starting to wonder if this maybe the problem, that is 3 SLi boards now that dont seem to be able to get CI & QE going. I wonder if this relates to the problem I had getting the 7900 GX2 to have CI & QE?

Unfortunately I cannot get my GeForce 9500m GS 512MB work with Quartz Extreme, but color management is working - the same results with NVInject you recommended.

I used your 512MB version then replaced PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)

All the content of aquamac.zip was copied using command:

sudo cp -R ~/aquamac/* /System/Library/Extensions

NVInject was removed and permissions were corrected.

Do I correct?

Anyone had successfully enabled CI in 9500m GS?

I need a quick answer please to those who run 9800gtx on hackintosh:

Is the fan really noisy on 9800GTX? I am about to open my evga 9800gtx, if it's nosier than a 8800gts (G92) then I am gonna sell it...

aqua-mac,

This is excellent - thanks for all your hard work & info.

Which brand/model 9800GTX are you using? I had a

8800GTS G92 by PNY that had some issues booting correctly

and want to make sure I avoid the same problem if I decide to

upgrade from my passively-cooled Radeon HD3870.

Still, the ATI HD 4870 is coming out soon . . .

Decisions, decisions . . . :D
