ilfed Posted April 7, 2008 Share Posted April 7, 2008 I am using JaS 10.4.8 to install. Everything seems to install just fine as long as I only install without any of the ati support options checked. I got a dual boot with XP setup using chain0 and OSX booted up just fine. One of the first things I did was install Modbin's graphic fix for my ATI Radeon X1650PRO. After installing it OSX would lock up at the grey apple loading screen. When I start up with "-v" then the loading seems to lock up right after "Login Window Application Started". I got this same lockup when I first installed OSX with the ATI support options checked. My system is: Processor: AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 Motherboard: Asus A8R32MVP-Deluxe Graphic Card: HIS ATI Radeon X1650PRO It has 2gb of RAM, and 2 SATA hard drives. One with my XP install, the other with OSX and another partition for storage. If anyone knows how I can get around these issues I would greatly appreciate the help. I searched the forum for information on my motherboard, my graphics card, and the specific kind of lockup (login window application), and could find some people with similar problems, but couldn't find a solution. pengwin Posted April 8, 2008 Share Posted April 8, 2008 im stuck there too. osx installs, freezes on the last screen so i manually restart and this happens after that. i gave up and went back to XP. but if anyone knows a fix im interested too.
