So went through hell the past 2 years trying to install Mac OS on my rig. Ever since Tiger i been trying. So i got my hands on Leo4All release and it finally worked!!! So after some screwing around with some kext's i got a higher resolution than 1024 x 768 . im at 1680 x 1050 now. But no quartz extreme. Im under the impression QE is like the Areo 3D (of windows vista) for macs.

so i edited NVDANV10Hal.kext, NVDANV20Hal.kext, NVDANV30Hal.kext, NVDANV40Hal.kext, NVDANV50Hal.kext, NVinject.kext, NVDAResman.kext to list 0x029010de as my device id. and i rebooted and it worked. now im at the higher res but no qe or ci.

Your Device ID only needs to be in 3 files for you. NVDAResman, Geforce and NVDANV40Hal. Remove your ID from those other ones and it will work. Be sure you have NVinject installed also.

ok cool , i remove the kext completely or just the device id from the files. if from the files, what do i put to replace them? do i just leave it blank?

dont think it works,im trying also long time.

whit the latest nvinject now whe can get resolution, but quartz not.

you have to flash your card, but its riski s otake care. i know they cost lot of money, mine was 5 80 euro so i didnt flash it.

but if you can get it to work whitout, flashing post it here. it would be cool to get this card working.

  • 1 year later...

Hi, i have Nvidia GeForce 7900 GTX and Quartz Extreme is NOT supported. However the resolution is working, so is the display calibrating.

I see that this card is very rare for hackintoshers, but someone could help?

I did put my 0x029010de in GeForce, NVDAResman and NVDANV40Hal kexts, but still nothing.

I really want to enable Quartz Extreme.

Could someone point us to the right direction?

I already have tried the EFI String - that does nothing and i just tested CoreVidia and ATI_init and that did not change anything.

also remove "&0x0000ffff"

Before - "<key>IOPCIMatch</key>

<string>0x000010de&0x0000ffff</string>"

After - "<key>IOPCIMatch</key>

<string>0x000010de</string>"

Make sure your string matches your device id. Mine for my Geforce Go 7950GTX was "0x029710de"

Also you need to try different kext if one does not work properly. Also I would completly remove the unecessary kext as I did. I only use nvdaresman, nvinject, and nvdanv40hal kexts.
