I'm sorry if some of this has been covered, but the forum's search function returns an error for me.

I have the following machine:

Dell Optiplex GX270

Intel P4 3.0ghz HT

2 x 512MB Kingston PC3200 (Dual Channel)

ATI Radeon 9800 PRO 128MB AGP

Mac OSX 10.5.1 (iATKOS v1.0ir2)

I'm looking for a driver solution for my video card. It currently has no QE or CI support, and I can only use 1024x768x32 resolution.

the card ID as displayed by the system profiler is 0x4e48

I feel like the standard radeon 9700 driver should work since the info.plist in the kext includes 0X4E481002.

What should I do?

I've been down this road and still fiddling for the H*ll of it on my 2nd rig.....

but the 9800 pro does use the 9700 kexts, the only problem is that circa tiger 10.4.4 , the kext's became PPC only. and would no longer work for intel based mac's...

I've found that a handful have gotten QE/CI it to work, however it requires a bit of elbow grease and even then is a bit quirky...

you'll need a handful of tiger kexts, 9A321 9700 ga bundle , callisto, koverg patch, and a bit of luck (there are a few other variants on methods, read the whole post, it covers alot of things people have tried...

or you can invest in a new video card that's on the HCL (wiki seems down at the moment)

here's a few links to start if you care to tackle it :) :

ATIRadeon9700 Patch?, QE/CI wanted

New AGPGart, AGP driver for all chipsets

Callisto Archive

[How-To] ATI Radon Mobility 9600 AGP with QE/CI on 10.4.8/10.4.10, Might very well work for other Radeon's too...
