For AMD/Intel users (existing and new members of the Leo4All Community:

Eddie11c's is currently in the decision making whether or not he is going to distribute a patch for his next updated release or a new .iso. Altough the .iso can be decided for sometime later, a patch is most likely going to appear online in a few hours. For those that are going to test his latest release as soon as it appears, please leave your feedback here in every way possible from install script errors to post-install experiences. Thank you all very much.

Below are some of the fixes in addition to new MD5 checksum for your confirmation-

This patch will bring Leo4Allv1 to Leo4Allv2. You must have a patched ISO already with the MD5: 293f82f9624eadd49baee70e19d68adc

New Leo4All.ISO MD5 checksum after applying the patch should be:

6d4e68afb3486baec03b446fb0a5d711

Changes/Fixes:

Improved ATI and GMA950 graphics support with updated kexts. There are some new options here so take a look. For ATI I added new installers for 2600PRO/2600XT/3850/3870/3870X2. Now GMA950 has an option that will install Vanilla 10.5.2 kexts and Natit.

Updated the RemoveVideo script, now it will ask you what type of video card so it only removes the corresponding kexts. Simply boot into single user mode with the bootflag -s at the Darwin prompt. Type:

/sbin/fsck -fy

/sbin/mount -uw /

./RemoveVideo

Follow the prompt to choose type of card.

Then type exit to continue booting.

Corrected an issue with some PS2 keyboards on laptops not working(I hope)

Added the latest Time Machine and Security Updates into the installer.

Added Quicktime 7.4.1 update.

Added option to choose Vanilla 9.2.2 kernel.

Updated AppleSMBIOS to latest version by Netkas.

Removed APIC option(Now the installer uses this older ACPIPlatform and AppleAPIC by default)

Added new Applications: Unison, Pacifist, KextHelper

Added support for some Marvell PATA chipsets, for those ICH9 users that requested it. Choose the ICHx fixed IOATAFamily.kext

System Profiler should be working as intended now for everyone.

By request I changed out the AppleIntegratedFramebuffer.kext

Modified the default ACL package, this may speed the install a little for some. It is down to under 15 minutes total for me!

Other various fixes/tweaks that I don't remember off hand.

***Discuss any issues you may be experiencing here!

For those that are asking for the .iso(with PPF2), I will be uploading the updated file shortly on torrent on my behalf. I have patched the .iso and all looks fine to me. MD5 matches. =) - Cheers

Where is this going to appear? On his FTP, The Bay, or else where?

Tell me about it! I have used so many over the last few weeks, but I ran by radio shack the other day and picked up a couple packs of 25 for $5 each. They are not high quality, but have yet to fail me even at max burn speed. The updates are to the ISO directly so there isn't a way of getting from a patch. But if your system is running fine then there is no need to muck around with it.

I just wanted to confirm something about my DVD-

Eddie11c, after patching my .iso, the image is now 4.38 GB. When I compared to the torrent, the file size is 3.54 GB. Any reason why? Or is it because I did not .rar archive on my side?

Please let me know, thanks buddy. =)

Thanks

Yes I compressed the archive with Winrar and added recovery option in it.

Please help:

How do I update iso file with a ppf file?

Which software to use?

If you are in windows use ppfomatic

@eddie11c

Idk if this will help you any but with this new release I can only get to the blue screen with the arrow if I boot with "-x". Any thing else results in a Waiting for root device.

It still hangs right after mounting the partitions and then hangs at the blue screen and arrow before the "choose your language" menu loads.

Thanks for this release. Here's the problem I have: I'm running a Santa Rosa-based Dell 1720 laptop (with x3100) and after I install, every time I reboot I have to start with the -f option, otherwise the keyboard and trackpad don't respond. I have to shut it off and restart using that -f switch in order for them to work.

Any ideas what might be going on?

Thanks

For Mac, use Gumby 50c and choose the PPF option, and Enjoy! =)

Check TPB. No torrent discussions allowed, sorry. :censored2: Its there, you just have to look. Use PPF-o-Matic for PC or Gumby for Mac to patch the file with the existing .iso. Its one top of the other.

@jed717ph-->TPB

Where can I get the PPf v1 & v2 for my own injection to the original .ISO?

Thanks for this Distro eddie11c!

Hi,

the original Leo4all.iso has an issue with the diskutility for me: diskutility opens and just closes again :censored2:

I´ve been to lazy to erase the disk and rerun the installer ... will test tonight.

Specs:

ASRock Conroe

C2D 6550

4 GB

7600GT 256MB

Cheers

I cant access my win partitions, or even start win, got only the burned Leo4All disc, and downloaded the ppf patch,

how can i create an .iso that i can patch under os x?

Diskutility is making an .dmg and there are 4 settings (compresesd, read/write, read ...) which one is the right?

Can i do the .iso from the burned disc else? Can i actually patch the iso created from the already burned disc?

I would like to search this in forum, but the search function is screwed  and simply dont work..

Eddie, congrats on a fine product.. if you need donations, you have my support.

I have this following in my closet:

ABIT KN9ULTRA MB (NV570 chipset)

2 GIG DDR2 800

8600 Nvidia PCI EXPRESS VIDEO CARD

AMD64 X2 6000 CPU

The MB has SATA & RAID. Would a RAID installation work?

Thanks.

Hello eddie11c!

Thank you again for this release.

It works well on my P5B Deluxe with Core2Duo like the first version, but the EFI-Boot (MBR) install don't work for me. I have a MBR disk with 2 other NTFS partitions on it, i boot it with grub. After the install i only can boot with the boot_v8 file, otherwise i get a chainloader error.

It is possible, to paste the patched IO82011faniliy.kext of 10.4.8 for Atheros WLAN Cards with AR5212 chipset? http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=40317.
