nobb1x Posted September 12, 2008 Share Posted September 12, 2008 beside the 00 macaddress,the current apple driver is not stable at all with bcm5787m, it has big issues with data transfer and, until some new are made from the scratch, there are no hopes for us. If you need wired lan get an usb to ethernet adapter,currently is the only solution, Asix make good ones http://www.asix.com.tw but Realtek based should work too. Eesh Dewan Posted August 20, 2009 Share Posted August 20, 2009 Hi, I am using Acer Aspire 4710 laptop which has the BCM 5787M LAN interface. I did a new install of 10.5.1 and updated to 10.5.8 and I found that now in System Profiler I can see the correct MAC address and it is catching the IP address automatically using DNS. Infact I have 2 installations of OSX86 on the same machine on different partitions and the other partition cannot get the MAC address and shows ba:ad:f0:0d:ba:ad.
