Bergamot
I know a couple of people have successfully run the P5E-VM, but I haven't heard if anyone managed to get the onboard X3500 graphics working with QE/CI. The word seems to be that it should be theoretically possible, but I honestly have no idea where to start.
Cide
I'm in the same boat. I have everything else working except the ability to change resolution and no QE/CI.
Cide
I tried using the X3100 kexts but still no resolution change or QE/CI. Has anyone out there had any success?
xixloxix
Bump ..... I have Leopard working on my P5EVM-HDMI no hardware graphics of course. Every time i play a video in VLC it will crash, is the due to the graphics problem? I wish i knew how to help people with a new driver, but I'm new to the osx86 experience. Is there anyone working on a driver? or can they look @ the x3100 driver and start from there? Thanks
Signal64
I tried to no end to coax the X3100 drivers to load but couldn't get it to work. Someone more knowledgeable than I in that area is going to have to take a stab at it. I got as far as the X3100 and X3100FB to load on boot, but they wouldn't integrate into the GUI and eventually would unload themselves. Same for the AppleIntelIntegratedFrameBuffer. Checking the Intel docs, the X3500 uses the same architecture and programming as the rest of the X3000 series which means it's theoretically backwards compatible. The G35 GMCH DevID is 2890 The X3500 DevID is 2892 and 2893 (Device 1 and Device 2) Device 1 is the HDMI/DVI port on a ASUS P5E-VM HDMI.
radon
Yep I'm in the same boat. I've been tinkering about with the X3100 drivers but to no avail. And since I'm no good with this kind of thing I'm waiting as well.

Froghunter
get azalia by taruga, alc888s work 2 channel stereo, 82566DC works with intel82566mm kext, x3500 work gma x3100 kext plist edited thx Sorry to ask a stupid question, but does this mean you edited the kext and it worked, or that is the solution. Like in the thread, I would like to run leopard on an Asus P5E-VM HDMI board, but would like to use the built in GMAX3500, and if I can't get the resolution to do 720p, its a no go since I am using it as an HTPC of sorts. I appreciate any help I can get, since the other alternative is buying a PCI graphics card.
