i'm not going to blame mebster for anything but this is exactly how things are going in this forum.

the sub-forum is still full of threads mentioned by me, they are all just wrong and not in place and the global-mod telling me he's working twenty minutes on that, didn't even moved 20% of the {censored} away.

you guys don't want me to really report each one of them, right?!

it can't be that no mod is around to clean this place up!?!

you set rules, but don't enforce them!

you ask for qualified personal, but where are they?!

moderators, please please please: moderate!

Ok, point taken.

This was one of the major reasons for redesigning the forum layout to what it currently is now. Unfortunately, making the forum names clearer and putting them in a logical order does not seem to have completely solved the problem.

However, I'm currently looking for someone who is eager to help move topics like that out of the OS X forum to the relevant OSx86 forums. Just basically keep it nice and tidy...

Sabr, it doesn't matter how well the site is designed. It doesn't matter if you have 1 or 1,000 people agreeing on the site design. There will always be idiots (and yes, I did use that term) that will post their stuff in whatever spot they want to post it. They will continue to do so unless they are warned and told in one syllable words where and what to post.

And even then, there will still be idiots doing it because they just don't care.

Hence why aprodigy now has a moderator badge under his name.

:)

But yeah, I agree. There will always be people who post in the wrong section, repeat questions that are already answered. These are problems all forums face, and they all deal with it in their own way.

The problem to me isn't the repeat questions. The bigger problem is Hack stuff is flooding the forums. It's in every forum in every incarnation and some of them are just too nebulous to make an executive decision on.

being a mod here for a cuple of hours now, i already moved 50 to 60 messages out of the apple 10.5 to the appropriate os86-forums, deleted about five others and closed some further useless threads. but hell, i'm not even done with the posts from 2008 yet ;)

is it fun? no!

do i understand why people can't read regarding the forum guidelines of the apple-forums? no!

do i wanna do this for a living? no way!

do i have a life aside from this. yeah.

it's gotta be done nevertheless and after all, it's simply a matter of investing time to moderate those sub-forums. busy with that myself now.

wake up the mods in charge of the sub-forums you like... or make someone wake them up. dunno.

I know how craptacular it is to be a mod. I do that on several mailing lists. Now the worst on the mailing lists are the adbots, which got solved quickly by having the mods review every single message from the new members. It wasn't fun either, reading through 1,000 {censored} sex messages to find the one post that needed to be sent to the group.

Hack into the InsanelyMac servers and replace the News Team image with a Moderator one, change your group to Global Mod, and while you're at it make me an Admin Guru Wiki Team News Team IRC Squad Tech Team Designer meddley.

j/k j/k (I gotta have some fun out in a while too)

Some mods do not deal with them at all!.It seems that they do not even exist... :)
