is there a wireless solution for desktops that allow the wireless device to be shown as airport, and not use some third party device?

... Without using a converter to fit a laptop card in a desktop.

Also, i have a macbook.. and a powerbook g4 wireless cards laying around, is there anyway to convert them to either desktop or laptop pc?

thanks

That's weird, AFAIK Zydas is used only in USB adapters ( http://zydas.rapla.net/ ) and no Airport drivers (Atheros or Broadcom) could recognize USB adapters.

Could you take shots of your System Profiler and Network Pane?

Anyway, on topic: here is a list of Broadcom cards, the PCI ones works as Airport and don't need adapter like PCMCIA.
