shavex Posted March 8, 2008 Share Posted March 8, 2008 Ok so i have ASUS DRW-2014L1T: Firmware Revision: 1.02 Interconnect: ATAPI Burn Support: Yes (Generic Drive Support) Profile Path: None Cache: 2048 KB Reads DVD: Yes CD-Write: -R, -RW DVD-Write: -R, -R DL, -RAM, -RW, +R, +R DL, +RW Write Strategies: CD-TAO, CD-SAO, CD-Raw, DVD-DAO Media: Type: DVD+R ID: CMC MAG M01 Blank: Yes Erasable: No Overwritable: Yes Appendable: Yes Write Speeds: 4x, 8x, 10x, 12x, 16x As you can tell thats from my system profiler. But when i try to burn using iMovie it says there isnt an Apple-Compatible burner available, when i try to burn with iDVD it gets to the point where its about to burn, but then crashes. juuva Posted October 22, 2008 Share Posted October 22, 2008 I have the same drive... Reads fine, doesn't burn, using a burn folder (burn option greyed out). Did you get this sorted? For anyone else's future reference, I was in a somewhat embarrassing manner able to fix my own problem... I had several months before downloaded the tweakui style app Cocktail, and had used it to de-clutter some of the finder drop down file menus. I had ticked 'hide burn to disc' option. As soon as I unticked this, the burn folder function 'burn' button became clickable and all was well. Who would have thought killing a drop down menu item would break burning in finder all together! I had the same problem and had also hidden the "burn to disc" option via Cocktail. Unhiding that permitted me to burn a folder to disk.
