yamsboys
Just wanted to let you folks know that I was able to get my ethernet and wireless connections running on my older Sharp Actius Al27 laptop. Ralink makes official OS X drivers. I have a RT2500 based built-in wireless and used the driver straight from their website. http://www.ralinktech.com/ralink/Home/Support/Macintosh.html There will be a separate utility that will be installed to manage the wireless. Airport Utility cannot be used. Regarding the VIA Rhine II driver, I was having issues with permissions before. Instead of using the loadvia script that is zipped together with the ViaRhine.kext file (which is hosted in this forum,) I used Kext Helper and loaded the ViaRhine.kext file straight up. Hope this helps anyone wanting to install figure out wireless/ethernet with VIA and Ralink based connections.
Tsukisan
Did you get this working under 10.5 or 10.4 only? I've had no problems with 10.4 but when I upgrade to 10.5 the Wirless utility won't load. Not sure if there is a 3rd party wireless utility for that problem or not but any help would be appreceated
