Hi all,

I can't really figure out how to get my audio working.. on my laptop I've tried a lot but the problem is that I don't exactly know what kind of sound card I have. When I enter lspci -nn it says that i've got a nVidia CK804 AC97 Audio chip with the following ID: 0x005910de. After I have entered this ID in AppleAC97Audio.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleAC97AudioIntelICH.kext/Contents/Info.plist my volume slider appears!

The problem is that my system profiles doesn't show built in audio, and my audio panel only sees the Line-Out (out of which i can hear music, though very VERY silent..).

Now i've seen lots of tips to get this working but it doesn't seem to work.. What also makes it difficult is that Vista automatically detects it as SoundMax integrated audio by Analog Devices.. That confuses me, what kind of soundcard do I have?? Maybe 1981 of 1986??? I don't know.. for now I'm sticking to nVidia AC97 Audio because I got the slider and Line-Out..

Maybe it's worth saying that during booting the folowing message appears:

pci10de,59:family specific matching fails

(pci10de could mean nVidia and 59 could be the DevID of my audiochip)

Comments anyone???
