Hi to everybody!

I've got a problem with my OSX86 System. I installed the Jas DVD 10.4.8, upgraded to Jas 10.4.9 and again to Jas 10.4.10 and ALL FUNTION!

I bought all hardware most compatible as possible to OSX86 projec and ALL it's really ok... I've only a LITTLE problem, but it seems no one can solve it! I googled for whole day and I didn't find a reply to my question.

The question is:

WHERE I CAN FIND THE CONTROL PANEL TO SET THE DUAL MONITOR (or dual Disply) AS EXTENDED OR MIRROR

I've got a Sapphire X1900xt 256 DDR3 and all funcion perfectly, resulotion, Quartz Extreme, Rotation and MIRROR in dual DVI... without any patch... Really good... but i don't want mirror mode, but EXTENDED mode and I don't kown how di it!

I thougth to install the ATI "DISPLAYS CONTROL" which can be downloaded from ATI (AMD) website... but the 4.5.7 vers only! and it support until ATI 9700-9800 and X800 family... it means my X1900xt is out... I've installed it and it dont' find nothing...

I read somewhere on-line about an ATI DISPLAYS CONTROL 4.x for x1900xt MAC EDITION graphic board but I found PowerMac G5 installer only... no MacBinary seems exist...

If someone have hot a link or know a solution to this problem, please, post here.

Really tanks a lot you all!

P.s. Sorry for my Horrible English... I'm Italian....

I don't know if you tried this but it worked for me...

If your computer is connected to more than one display or to a TV or projector, you can set them up as a continuous display for your desktop.

1. Open System Preferences and click Displays.

2. Click Arrangement and follow the onscreen instructions.

If you are playing a DVD on a television connected to your computer, click the Arrangement button in Displays preferences and move the menu bar to the television. If you don't see an Arrangement button, your computer is only capable of mirroring (showing the same image on all screens). For more information, see the manual that came with your computer.

If you have several displays connected to your computer, you can specify that some are mirrored displays and others show the extended desktop. For example, if you have three displays, you can have two displays showing the same information and the third display showing the extended desktop.

To set up a combination of displays showing mirrored and extended desktop images, set up the three displays as an extended desktop and then Option-drag a display icon onto another display icon to mirror the two displays.

I installed Aty control Displays 4.5.9... the last version,

Nothing happened... it don't recognise my hardware... so no advanced feature...

... I bought a DVI cable too... to repalece my VGA (my TV monitor has got both)... nothing... it doesn't turn on too...

Or my VGA card is not compatible with this version of OSX or I've problem with driver...

I'll try again... if I find a solution I'll post it here...

  • 1 month later...

... and finally all function! Dual DVI, dual monitor LCD in Extended and mirror mode, rotation, Q/E, C/I, and ATI 4.5.9 control panel too!.... I'm really tired...

The solution is placed in Jccool package... Every time I installed the Jccool package for x1900xt, all option were fully function, but the acceleration hardware of QE and CI bacame deactivated... So I extracted the package without install it (right mouse button -> view contenent"), I momed on 10.4.8. folder where I extrct again from another compressed file the 2 only driver of "ATIX1000....kext " and "Natit.kext". I downloaded "kext Helper 7b" (useful utility to install Kext without using the TERMINAL -which I hate!-), repair the permission opening Application -> Utilities -> Disk Utilities -> repair permission; restarted... and all function!

Tanks a lot you all and JCCOOL too for his package.

See you.
