and need your wifi working for some important reason like job related, this is a good FREE stopgap

solution that i am using.

Make a second partition (EXT2 not EXT3) on your drive, that only has to be 10 gigs. Install

PCLinuxOS 2007 and when you get to the bootloader setup screen, choose the partition( in my case it was

sda2) that you made the install on to put the grub bootloader on. DO NOT INSTALL IT ON YOUR

LEOPARD PARTITION (in my case sda1).

When you are done and reboot, as soon as you encounter the first numerical countdown, hit enter to

get to the Darwin menu where linux will be listed. Choose linux and when you have arrived at the desktop

click on the control center icon located in the bottom panel(dock). Then click on Network and Internet

from left side menu, then click on the"set up a new network interface" icon. After a minute using the wizard

you are done. Reboot and then you are ready to use linux to surf with Firefox to your hearts content.

I have a feeling it's going to be months before a usable driver for Leopard is available.

Personaly i never use wifi, everywhere i use this laptop has wired ethernet. But who knows i may need the capability some time.

I almost ordered a D-link WUA-1340 usb adapter which supposedly works and can be bought on Ebay for $32, but i think this

is a better solution.

If and when a GOOD driver is developed for Leopard, i'll delete my linux partition and return this to being strictly a Hackbook.

Was having sound problems with PCLinuxOS, so i replaced it with Mepis 7.0. Everything worked

right out of the box. This is a very laptop friendly distro, very impressive.

Or you could spend 10 bucks on a Dell 1490 pci-e wireless card, have it recognized as a native Airport and toss that {censored} Intel card in the trash.

That's what I did.

If I wanted to boot in to Linux, I'd run Linux.

But I don't.

Or you can spend $10 on a Dell 1490 wireless card (courtesy of ebay - and hopefully yours comes faster than mine) and install it in the extra PCI-E slot on your laptop (if you have one) and run the two cards side by side, the Dell card disabled in windows hardware manager....

Cause if your laptop is business issue.... there's a reason it came with the Intel wireless card....
