INFNITE Posted February 14, 2006 Share Posted February 14, 2006 If this guy is so amazing and great....shouldn't he be able to figure out how to boot XP in the iMac? He already figured out the reverse, so I think he knows what's going on. Booting EFI based OS on a BIOS based system should technically be more difficult than the other way around. We should use a portion of the prize money, donate it to him to buy an iMac or a MacBook (he deserves it for the work he's done for the OSX86 community anyway). Once he gets XP running on the iMac, we'll give him the rest of the prize money. Good idea? Maxxuss is probably the best hacker in the OSX86 realm, and having him hack away the iMac or the MacBook should drastically speed up the goal of getting Windows to run on the EFI Macs. I agree that it's a splendid idea, and would probably be the most productive use of the money. Maxxuss knows what he's doing, and has gotten the furthest in his efforts. If only we could have this money go to him. Personally, I see no use for XP as an operating system, but some people I know need xp for the applications, namely MS Virtual PC, and I would see a use for it being a gaming platform for native Counter-Strike as Darwine doesn't support OpenGL yet.
