Ati Xpress 12x0 series currently not working... So DO NOT ASK "HOW CAN I GET IT WORKING?", I and some other people are trying to figure out a way to load the right FrameBuffer to see how it wil respond...

Some Known Facts About Xpress 12x0 Series Cards

=================

RS690

DEVICE ID= 0X791E1002

RS690M

DEVICE ID= 0X791F1002

RS600

RS600?

DEVICE ID= 0X79411002

=================

RS600M

DEVICE ID= 0X79421002

The Xpress 12x0 series on many linux forums, said/told that it is Radeon HD based chip. but some other places show different story for it

some say it is based on RS600, some say R420...

=================

Need some trial on ATY_XXXXXXX.kext plugins in ATINDRV but need correct natit injection values...

=================

Anyone knows how to edit Natit to get the right device id and inject the values so that right plugin (Framebuffer) loads?

Please PM me if you have any solution? or knowledge of Natit, we can figure out which plugin is the correct FB for the X12x0, if we can make a Natit that correctly identifies the device id so that, we can point it to right FrameBuffer driver....

  • 2 months later...

I tried Natit using Iago and the OS loads, but I get a black screen.

Used this entriedToAdd in Info.plist for Natit

<key>entriesToAdd</key>

<dict>

<key>default</key>

<dict>

<key>@0,compatible</key>

<string>ATY,Iago</string>

<key>@0,device_type</key>

<string>display</string>

<key>@0,display-connect-flags</key>

<integer>040</integer>

<key>@0,name</key>

<string>ATY,Iago</string>

<key>@1,compatible</key>

<string>ATY,Iago</string>

<key>@1,device_type</key>

<string>display</string>

<key>@1,display-connect-flags</key>

<integer>040</integer>

<key>@1,name</key>

<string>ATY,Iago</string>

<key>ATY,FrameBufferOffset</key>

<integer>256</integer>

<key>ATY,IOSpaceOffset</key>

<integer>4096</integer>

<key>ATY,RegisterSpaceOffset</key>

<integer>2427584512</integer>

<key>ATY,VRAM,Memsize</key>

<integer>256</integer>

<key>device_type</key>

<string>ATY,IagoParent</string>

</dict>

</dict>

My card is a x1270, (RS690M chipset).

I think it's got something to do with the FrameBufferOffset, IOBufferOffset, and RegisterSpaceOffset, but I'm just guessing.

Adding my Device ID to ATIRadeonX2000.kext works, but I get some artifacts when scrolling and dragging windows.

Hope it helps.
