Broadcom 440x still not working

I have been having a very hard time trying to get my 10.5.1 Kalyway Leopard install to work with my Broadcom 440x adapter. No matter what I do, it detects the device and appears to be using the right driver, but still reports "Cable Unplugged." I have replaced IONetworkingFamily.kext as is usually recommended, and I have changed the device name from en0 to en1. Finally, I have tried turning DHCP on and off. I have an Acer Aspire 5610 with an Intel 3945ABG for wireless so I currently can't connect to the Internet with it at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently using kalyway Leopard 10.5.1 (but without vanilla) on my aspire 5610 with Broadcom 440x and the Ethernet works well natively, it is not necessary to replace anything. On the other hand, Intel 3945abg wireless it doesn't work and I think nobody has been able to find a driver so far - I use the usb Dlink G DWL-122 with the drivers of Ralink
