Swad
Sun to publish draft for open-source DRM specs Sun Microsystems will publish open-source technical drafts for conditional access specifications (CAS) and digital rights management (DRM) within the next 10 days, the company said Friday. The open-source project is under Sun's Open Media Commons (OMS) initiative to licence content to individuals rather than machines, such as mobile phones, MP3 players, PCs and set-top boxes. http://www.itnews.com.au/newsstory.aspx?CIaNID=30223 DRM is mostly bad idea anyway, and I'm not sure we need another one, but I thought this was interesting. At least it's open source, I suppose. Does that mean it'll be easier to crack?

iLux
Isn't this project stupid ? If DRM is open, anyone can crack it by examining the code…
