Darwine has just been released in an x86 build, as a developer preview. I was able to grab it off this Source Forge mirror. I am sure it will be at others in a few minutes.

maybe it's meant for 10.4.4 on the actual Mac Core Duos?

Someone with an iMac, test it out!

If you copy all files from /Applications/darwine/wine.bundle/contens/* to /tmp/wine_root/ it will hang on that 4.4 specific error:
wine: failed to initialize: dlopen(/tmp/wine_root/lib/wine/ntdll.dll.so, 2): Symbol not found: _i386_set_ldt
  Referenced from: /Applications/Darwine/Wine.bundle/Contents/bin/../lib/libwine.1.dylib
  Expected in: /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib
that means.. we must wait until some skilled programmer will edit the source so it will be usable for 10.4.3 or wait until 10.4.4 will be "usable for PC" :D
