Anyone knows where to search for AppleHDA hacking ? I mean source code etc. ? I'd like to give it a try and see if I am able to get at least Analog Devices based-cards working. Tell me if you can help me somehow.

A couple of years ago I was looking into trying to write a driver for Turtle Beach Santa Cruz -- really to port the FreeBSD driver -- after some research decided it was easier to replace my sound card than write a driver. The timer issues were beyond my ability to solve.

Anyway, among other technical stuff, I posted a technical manual on writing audio drivers I found on the Apple site here.

Maybe it will help you.
