Easiest way to fix DVD only boot problem

Having installed Kalyway 10.5.1 and I am very happy with the way it works. EFI_MBR. It pains me to see that there does not seem to be an easy solution to the problem that the bootloader does not seem to install correctly.

What is the easiest way to solve this? Why is it so hard for people to answer this question? Why does this problem occur in the first place?

I am downloading Kalyway's own Format and Make bootable HD for Leopard.iso but I wonder why this is even needed........

Someone please help me because this is really starting to do my nut in.

Thanks in advance.

Well I am going to answer my own question then and I am also going to add it to the Genius Bar. This is the only script you will need, it worked for me after hours of looking about.

Thanks to the man who made it...............

Hi Jackobyte,

If you would like to try a bootloader install package that works with Kaylway (both MBR & Guid), iATKOS, ToH, or BrazilMac,

I have attached it here. an email to macgenius6@gmail.com and I will send it to you.

Please, if you try it, send an email to macgenius6@gmail.com and let me know if it works for you.

Thank you very much CCG!

I had just fried my install when I was updating to 10.5.3.

I did a time machine restore, but it would not boot. All I had to do was use that bootloader and everything worked GREAT!

I found that I didn't have to use the sudo -s command though in terminal.

Scantron,

I need to do the same because I messed up my Hack boot drive (Kalyway 10.5.4) trying to do a retail install. I restored using the Kalyway 10.5.1 DVD and all went well, but I couldn't boot.

When you used CCG's solution, did you actually reinstall Kaly 10.5.1, and then update to 10.5.3?

Thanks!

Hello,

I'm trying this!

Sudu -s comes up as an unknown command.

Then when running the script it says something about not having exclusive access to the disk and then gives a few errors saying files can not be found. And then upon reboot, doesn't work =(

Hagar thank you !!!!!!!!

I backed up leopard with the time machine and I coudn't reinstall it again because the bot wasen't backed up with the time machine, and I had a black screen with the cursor blinking. SO I put the dvd and the OS use the booting from the DVD and when I was in my already backed up leopard I install the chamaleon dmg, and just works like a charm!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you and thand for the entire forum for all those times when you help me!
