I don't understand any Apple technical terms (only bought mine yesterday!) so I have no idea whether or not this is the right place to post this cry for help - if not I apologise.

Basically, my internet won't connect. I have a home network with I logged into and the AirPort is apparently 'on' but it has a 'self assigned IP address and may not connect to the internet.' ... well, it isn't connecting, so what do I do? :P

I've tried the diagnostics thing but it just leads me around in circles, mainly because all these terms... eg: PPPoe (?) or... something, I don't know what to change anything to!

Please help me? Thanks!

how do you think someone can advise you anything, if you give so specific informations like

my internet doesnt work via airport.

maybe you dont have a computer on the other end.

( as you post here, you have a real macintosh which is making you trouble, if not, look in the right forum and you find friends there with the same problem )

I had a similar problem with Snow Leopard.

I have a Temporary fix don't know if it works for tiger, leopard, Airport, or regular macs though. Or if it depends on your ISP.

Please post anything better you find in that topic.

Hi, have you tried changing the channel (frequency) on your router . If you have other devices , tv's , cordless phones etc they may interfere. The frequncy is probably set tp channel 11. Try channel 3 or 4

I get the feeling BeautifulDawn isn't coming back, note the post times. This thread should probably be locked/deleted unless someone (somehow) finds it particularly useful. I seriously doubt the same person is still having the same AirPort issue since Feb 7th 2008. A good solid-googling can clear up most AirPort issues. Why was this thread even posted in the Boot Camp area? There's not even mention of anything multi-boot or boot camp related.
