I just got an asus running osx with kalyway 10.5.1.

I'm about to try installing it on my tyan s5397, dual e5420, 8gb ram, 8800 GT 512mb, etc...

I'm wondering if I can just use my final cut studio dvds from my old G5 and install like I would on a real mac or since it's a hackintosh is there a special version that I need...

I'm a little confused. I been reading a lot of post and some say it works no sweat, and some say they need to modify some ethernet settings en2 to en0...

So any advice I'm about to just do it since I asked several questions and no response I guess I can just do some trial and error...but if you've already been there and have some answers I would greatly appreciate it...

Thanks in advance...

they should install just like on your old mac, the problems you might run into would probaly happen if you got an illegal version.

besides what do you have to lose exept time?

there aren't any "hackintosh FCS" versions out there so the discs are the only way besides downloading the 52 gig file

Yeah I've upgrade from final cut to, HD 4.5, to Production Suite, to Final Cut Studio, and now FCS2 so it's all good there.

For some reason I kept seeing like UB version. Not sure what that means. Also online someone was saying if you wanted to run Adobe CS3 stuff like AE, Premiere etc. you needed a special patched version to work on Hackintosh...do you know anything about that?
