8800GT on ASROCK 915GL

I have an ASROCK 915GL (an old-school board from the Tiger beta days). I've heard that the 8800GT doesn't like some motherboards, so I want to hear a success story (or failure) before I buy.

The reason for concern is the board's unorthodox 4x PCIe slot that's "supposed" to work with 16x cards. Indeed this works fine with my 7600GT, but I'd like to get a confirmation on the 8 series.

Thanx :(

EDIT: I should add that I'm not asking if this works in OS X. I'm asking if it works at all (does it POST, etc..)

Did you know the search function works quite nice on this forum? :D

Yes, your board is supported. The 8800GT? I have no idea, I didn't search that hard. If the board is supported, then your pci-e slot will be seen, so your 8800GT will be seeable--will the driver accept it? There is one way to find out. :P

I appreciate the reply, but I realize I might not have been clear enough. I'm not asking if it's supported in OS X (I already know that it is) -- I'm asking if the motherboard will recognize the card, regardless of the OS. In other words, does the card even work in Windows?
