This would be a nice one for you inventors/artists out there, if tomorrow it was announced that steve jobs and bill gates have merged their corporations into one and were introducing and new OS which would run both Mac and Windows programs... What would this new OS be called/named and, what would you think the new OS would look like ?

Revalations final chapter
I think if that were to ever happen the world as we know it would surely end but if it didn't
You would have an operating system that is proberly more stable than windoze but less stable than mac and as you would have two different teams merging or working on it the expense would be quite high $400 for an O/S
Viruses that were written for windoze could also effect this O/S with virus mutating to also effect standard mac software.
worst case senario - It turns out to be the worst O/S ever produced and both Gates and Jobs go bankrupt leaving us without either

Theres a program called WinOSX that transforms windows destop to Aqua but leaves the taskbar there too. Only thing is though the Dock can't be resized. It will give you some idea of Windows meets Mac OS cosmetically

With the right push, osx could become the "universal OS" a good working darwine for windows apps & some form of linux libraries to run linux x86 code, & youve got the best of all 3 worlds & aqua too...
it shouldnt be too hard to visualise this, a 10.4.1 with something running in darwine & something running in X11 would give the general idea..

I have XP skinned as Vista, and at the same time parts of my system are skinned as Tiger (the reminants from an old theme.) As crazy as it sounds, some mac styles actually look better in windows than in OS X...
There's a topic somewhere where I built a safari clone to replace Internet Explorer.
Well, here's a glimpse of how Mac and Windows would look intermeshed:

Oooh.. nice.. i used to use a tiger like os x theme for windows blinds for a while.. it was quite different..
but you shots actually dont look too bad, other than the crappy longhorn folders
Longhorn beta icons are fugly..
but otherwise, I kinda like that window layout.. but it also looks a ton like aqua lol
