I just figured out what my problem is, but now I need a fix.

My graphics drivers aren't working.

With my go8400gs in system profiler I get the following:

NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS EFI:

Chipset Model: NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS EFI

Type: Display

Bus: PCIe

PCIe Lane Width: x16

VRAM (Total): 32 MB

Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)

Device ID: 0x0427

Revision ID: 0x00a1

ROM Revision: NVinjectGo 0.2.0c EFI

Displays:

Display:

Resolution: 1280 x 800

Depth: 32-bit Color

Core Image: Software

Main Display: Yes

Mirror: Off

Online: Yes

Quartz Extreme: Not Supported

I am currently using macgirls com.boot.plist along with PC-EFI. When I did the 10.5.3 update, something must have happened with my graphics kexts that made them go bad... I've restored my 10.5.2 kexts, but that doesn't fix it. Does anyone have any idea how to properly restore the graphics drivers?

Maybe one of the kexts is not loading. delete all the Nvidia kexts (GeGorce* and NVDA*) also Natit, NVkush, or NVinject, reboot and install the Graphics Update for Leopard 1.0

hi macgirl .

kalyway 10.5.2 on my xps do not show my DVD Burner .

and i have 1 core -_-

please help me

For your DVD burner you need to reinstall the IOATAFamily.kext from the Installation DVD

For the cores check that com.apple.Boot.plist doesn´t have "cpus=1" as kernel flag

Thanks Superhai, I guess that is similar as AppleSMBIOSEFI?

EDIT: I have "problems" on Memory report in System Profiler with SMBIOS Resolver

It does the same thing I guess. I am working on the memory part. It is an easy fix (it is the same as on my original SMBIOS kext fix) and I will update it tonight (not now it is so lovely weather so I am rather outside... lol).

I wonder if anyone could help me solve my problem.

I have installed butler and the PS2Controller kext from sonotone's Post installer patch. And now the media key work in itunes. Great I thought, but now FFscroll doesn't work properly because that also uses its own PS2Controller. So If I install one the other one doesn't work. I really would like to have both of them. Is there a way I could get them both to work? Can I merge two kexts together?

Please help

Thanks in advance

Michael

Has anyone managed to find out whether or not the Dell Truemobile Bluetooth 360 (Bluetooth 2.1) works on the Mac?

I'm curious to change my 355 to 360 because it consumes less power.

Hey actually having some troubles with my graphiccard:

Dell XPS M1530

Geforce 8600GT 256MB

Kalyway 10.5.3 with Vanilla Kernel (Both Cores are shown in the system panel)

The bar on the top isn't transparent :(!

When starting aperture it says, that i don't have the right type of graphic card...:)

Is somebody out there who has the same problems?

Is it better to install iatkos than kalyway?

Despite the errors on my XPS, this is an awesome Thread macgirl! Thanks a lot!

I have also made a new kext which subclass the AppleEHCI.kext so you should be able to use it with original kexts with just one modification.

EHCISleepEnabler

To enable it you have to edit the Info.plist in /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleUSBEHCI.kext/Contents/

You need to add these lines

	<key>OSBundleCompatibleVersion</key>
<string>1.0</string>

under

 	<key>CFBundleVersion</key>
	<string>3.1.5</string>

Thats the theory. The next thing is a battery kext... but that is a much bigger task! Not sure where (and if ^_^) I want to start.

You should be able to remove the serial from the plist to have the serial from dell bios, but have not tested yet. so do not try it yet. Will soon and also include the options fix (aka dvd-fix).

edit: kext updated...

Check that you have selected External Disks on Finder's preferences:

Picture_1.png

Also on Terminal with "mount" command:

~ macgirl$ mount
/dev/disk0s2 on / (hfs, local, journaled)
devfs on /dev (devfs, local)
fdesc on /dev (fdesc, union)
map -hosts on /net (autofs, automounted)
map auto_home on /home (autofs, automounted)
/dev/disk0s3 on /Volumes/BOOTCAMP (ufsd, local, noowners, noatime)
/dev/disk1s2 on /Volumes/HFS (hfs, local, nodev, nosuid, journaled, noowners)
/dev/disk1s3 on /Volumes/FAT32 (msdos, local, nodev, nosuid, noowners)

My FAT32 and HFS volmes are on an External USB disk
