Technobob
I just finished reading about this and it's looking good for Xbox 360 hack in the future maybe. It's still early to say what affect this will have but I'm sure M$ is not happy about it. The coolest thing with this hack is you will be able to play your backups on Xbox Live. http://www.xboxhacker.net/index.php?option...=33&topic=285.
Swad
Wow, that is really interesting. I don't have an XBOX, but something like this might convince me to buy one...
Technobob
This won't be an easy mod for the novice but it's another no modchip option. This mod only gives you the option to play backups but not run different dashboards. There is a soft mod that only needs a memory card and retail version of a game, it's easy. The soft mod will allow you to change the dashboard and there are some excellent dashboards out there like XBMC. I don't think it will have much effect on Xbox 1 sales, seeing as M$ has stopped production. Now if they can use this knowledge and crack the firmware on the Xbox 360's then this would be huge. It maybe possible as the 360 DVD drives firmware is very similar to the firmware in Xbox 1. I can already see M$ working on finding a replacement drives for the 360 before the damage is done. Mr. Bond
The only thing is, The Specialist has decided not to release any of the tools/code he used. Which is good in a way, because it wont allow more rampant piracy and cheating on live, not to mention bringing the scene into yet another bad light. But it also does suck, because it would definetley be a great development in the modding scene. It would be great if a retail game had some sort of font-type exploit, that way homebrew stuff could also be played too.... We can only wish....
