IE 7.0 Beta Review

PC Mag gives it 2.5 out of 5. When will everyone get the message that IE is the worst one out there? At least it will have better web development support. I will never be able to forgive Microsoft, though, for their blatant disregard for building in web standards for IE in the past (like v.6)

The beta version of IE7 released today by Microsoft is meant for developers and tech enthusiasts, and it's a good thing. This is not (yet) a browser for the faint of heart; in fact, if you've become accustomed to the minimalist approach of alternative browsers like Firefox, IE7 might actually feel like a step backward. The product's proper name—which should tell you most everything you need to know—is Internet Explorer 7.0 for Windows XP SP2 Beta 2 Preview. We'll refer to it simply as IE7 beta, though.

I screwed up IE 6 to the point of no return. I have no idea how or why, but now I MUST use IE 7 as my default browser. Downgrading to IE 6 simply makes internet explorer unusable. I think it's because IE 7 uses different registries and when you downgrade to IE 6, it restores old registries from IE 6 (which for me are corrupt, I suppose.)

So the news that Beta 2 is out is good for me at least. I hope it's somewhat better than Beta 1. Seems to have a lot more eye candy...

Yeah, I installed IE7 B1 on my office comp when I got it from TechNet I have had only compatability issue and thats with WindowBlinds. If anything It's more an issue with WB than IE. I'm using IE7 B2 now and still couldn't be happier with it! Its a huge change from IE6, I just hope MS will solve all the CSS issues in the final version, but probably unlikely they will do anything about that...
