Chun, I want to first say that your kext has made it possible for me to finally use my Sony Vaio SZ with near 100% hardware support (Intel 3945 only thing not working). I am now using a Dynex (Best Buy) PC Card Wifi solution (Broadcom) that Leo sees as Airport Extreme. I have now been able to remove Vista fully and only use Windows XP SP3 via VMWare Fusion. I have 4GB ram and this solution, combined with Unity is more than I could hope for! I can now have my preferred OS of choice on a notebook that has more features, is smaller, more powerful, and lighter than a Macbook, and still run my Windows apps needed for work. Kudos to you...

 

Now, does anyone know how support is coming for a version that will work in 10.5.4? Thanks...

hey chun-nan,

 

i have a problem.. i installed the beta 3 driver on my laptop

i have a TI xx12 pci to card bus

after intalling the driver and restarted my computer

mac screen boots up. i see a power led on my linksys wpc54g ver 3.

which indicates that the driver works. now that not the problem

the gray mac screen never left there.. it stops loading.. no disk activity whatsoever.

i tried to use -v and saw that it stops at display: family specific matching fails..

after that it stops.. pls anyone help me.. it my 10th time to reinstall leopard and end up with this problem.. :)(

 

btw.

I tried your beta3 on my X61 tablet (iATKOS v4i - 10.5.4). The first boot, it recognize the device RL576 (Ricoh), and it hangs. the second time and on, it gives me kernel panic. I know I'm using stock ACPI.

Chun-Nan:

Many thanks for putting these kext's together. My TI PCIXX12 Cardbus Controller is being recognized with no problem. Like many others (especially fellow Vaio owners), though, I still haven't figured out how to get the SD/Memory Stick card reader working. Do you know of any kext development in progress to support this? If not, how would one start in trying to create and/or perform a linux port of such a driver?

and I find it's device ID with DPCIManager, the gray area of image is my device

hi guys,

i installed this but leopard doesn't boot , the boot hangs with the line:

mDSNResponder[36]: Couldn't read user-specific Computer name

..how can i fix this problem??

now i have reboot in safe mode, installed a kext for audio and then repair permissions..now i can reboot in normal mode but i don't see the wireless device in the system profiler, airport doesn't find wireless devices

i don't know, my device is supported but doesn't work..

Well, I'm using rev8 kexts atm. I tried with Beta3 also but showed two cards instead of only one.

 

The card is recognized, including the adapter (CardBus to ExpressCard).

Using Assist Me => Diagnostics trying to find my network

And then... FREEZING...

At this point the system hangs completely.

Only back when I remove the card.

When it hangs, dmesg shows:

	unable to collect channel list from hal; regdomain likely 32924 country code 840

 11D beacon causing regdomain change to CC 840

 en1: 802.11d country code set to 'CN'.

 en1: Supported channels 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11

 ath_chan_set: unable to reset channel 5 (2432 Mhz)

 

Any ideas??

I'm almost selling this card to buy some usb adaptor.

Can you give me details about your wireless card? Is it Atheros or Broadcom? What is the hardware's ID?

I have a little problem. I've tried your files, to get my cardbus working, but it gives a freeze at start. I use Kalyway 10.5.2 in an HP 6710b. Everest gives me this information about my cardbus:

 

Ricoh RL5C476 CardBus Controller

Device ID: 1180-0476

 

Please help me, becouse this is the only way to get internet on my hackintosh:)

Hi Sandiel,

 

Try not to plug your cardbus device into the slot untill booting into OSX to see if it still freezes.

 

Or

 

Boot into the single user mode while the cardbus device plugged into the slot to see if it still freezes.

boot up one time with "update -x -v" let it update and then reboot and should work fine.

had same issue that my lappie would not boot. after this it works fine.
